What We Believe

We believes that the Holy Scriptures, commonly known as the Bible:-

  • are the inspired Word of God; and,
  • are all sufficient rule and guidance for faith and practice of the Christian faith

As such, we, as believers, coming together as an Assembly, are encouraged and compelled to follow sound doctrine.

The assembly is, however, aware that creeds are not the primary basis of Christian fellowship although they do form an integral part of any gathering of believers as a church.  Therefore, the following is not to be regarded as the complete revelation of biblical truth, but, only that it covers our present needs as to what we, as an Assembly, believe to be our fundamental doctrines.

The Assembly, therefore, accepts, adopts, adheres to, and believes the following doctrinal basis:-

  1. We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.
    (2 Tim.3:15 and 16).
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existent and uncreated in three persons. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Deut. 6:4, Matt.28:19, Mark 12:29).
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is part of the Godhead referred to in (2) above.  (John. 1:1)
  4. We believe in the virgin birth of Christ as was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 and fulfilled in Matthew 1:23 to 25.
  5. We believe that Christ’s death upon the cross gave an atoning of all man’s sin to those who believe in Him.  (Mark 15:24, 33-37, John 3:16, Rom. 3:25)
  6. We believe in the bodily resurrection and the ascension of Christ (Rom. 8:34, Mark 16:6, 19, Luke 24:1-7, 50, 51, Acts 1:9 10)
  7. We believe in salvation by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.  (Rom. 3:24-25, Eph. 2:8-9)
  8. We believe in baptism in water by full immersion for all believers.  (Matt. 3:13-16, 28:19)
  9. We believe in divine healing through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. (Isa. 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:14)
  10. We believe in the baptism by the Holy Spirit with the normal physical evidence of speaking in tongues.  (Acts 2:4, Acts 19:6)
  11. We believe in the present day operation of the nine gifts of the Spirit as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12.
  12. We believe in the ministry gifts of Christ mentioned in Ephesians 4:11 and 12.
  13. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit which enables a believer to live a holy life. (Heb. 12:14;1Pet.1:15 16)
  14. We believe that Jesus Christ will return to earth in His glory as God the Son to judge the living and the dead.  The righteous will enter into eternal life and the wicked into eternal punishment (Matthew 16:27;  25: 31-46, John 5:25-29, Acts 1:11; 10:42; 24:15, 1 Corinthians 5:8-10, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, Revelation 20).
  15. We believe in everlasting punishment for the wicked. (Matt.13:49-50, Luke 12:47-48, 2 Thess. 1:8-9, Rom. 6:23, Rev. 20:11-15)
  16. We believe that Christ is the head of the Church.
  17. We believe that the only way to the knowledge of God is through Jesus Christ and to accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and to repent from your sins. (John 14:6)
  18. We believe that man is inherently corrupt due to the Fall and can only be redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ. (Rom 5:12)
